As darkness threatens to consume me
I wonder, I truly wonder just who I will be
Maybe just maybe someday I might learn to fly
But until then I’ll just struggle on by
Though the day may bring hardships
Not a complaint leaves my lips
The nights may sometimes be restless
But even with that I must confess
Every night as I lie in bed
No tears dare my eyes to shed
Nor does my voice dare to call out
Or my body to move about
All it takes is three simple words my mother says to me
I love you, can truly make you happy
Throughout the day I look above
And am suddenly filled with hope and love
I am not alone
Nor will I ever be.
